The profile
Vinarija Kovačević grew from a small family vineyard on the southern slopes of Fruška Gora above Irig. In 2013, Miroslav Kovačević took over Irig’s historic “Podrum 1930” cellar, an imposing building of great value to the town’s architectural heritage, to strengthen the region’s wine culture. Since 2019, the winery has been converting its vineyards to organic cultivation.
The flagship “Edicija S” range stands for powerful, concentrated wines from the best sites, with hand harvesting, careful pressing and 18 months of maturation in the finest barriques. Alongside Chardonnay and Rajnski Rizling, the portfolio includes traditional bottle-fermented sparkling wines such as Brut Reserve R Edicija.
