A family story on Bukovo Hill

Traško winery stands on Bukovo Hill near Negotin, overlooking the Negotin valley, whose centre lies in the border region of Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. Its mission is to make a wine worthy of representing this region. The owner is Dejan Ivanović, who lives in Switzerland and spends every summer in his birthplace, Negotin; in 2008, he came to Bukovsko brdo, initially with the idea of a weekend house and later a vineyard.

The family story goes back further: great-grandfather Đorđe and grandfather Dragutin cultivated three hectares of vines in Srbovo, mainly Prokupac and Plovdina for the former Negotinsko crno. Today, every wine’s development is carefully monitored and modern cellar technology is used. The Cabernet Sauvignon Fabulous matures for up to two years in fine oak barrels and a further year in bottle.
