Erdevik’s historic cellar dates back to the Odescalchi family. Today, its own Fruška Gora vineyards are at the heart of the winery.
The profile
Erdevik winery lies at the western foot of Fruška Gora – historically Alma Mons – in the village of Erdevik in Srem, at around 140 metres above sea level. Count Livio Odescalchi had the cellar and winery built here in 1826; according to tradition, the village’s winegrowing history dates back to the year 276 under Emperor Probus. After the socialist era, the once-large estate was taken over and modernised.
The vineyard is a single continuous block of 40 hectares, worked predominantly by hand; Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are grown. Đorđe Stojšić is responsible for production and marketing. The winery includes a high-quality restaurant – an insider tip for visitors to Serbia.
