Erdevik Grand Trianon Deux Mers 2020 – Grand Trianon that has spent an additional year on the bed of the Adriatic Sea. Two seas. “Deux Mers” means “two seas”: the vines grow in Fruška Gora on soils once covered by the Pannonian Sea. After 12 months in French barriques and 8 months of bottle ageing in the cellar, the bottles are lowered in cages to 30 metres in the Adriatic, in the Kornati archipelago, where they age for another 12 months. Each bottle returns covered in natural marine deposits such as coral and shells, making it one of a kind. Tasting. Intense ruby red with deep purple and black hues. On the nose ripe black fruit – blackberry, blueberry and black cherry – with black pepper, liquorice, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied, dense and firmly structured, with powerful yet velvety tannins. The sea ageing adds a subtle note of sea salt and mineral freshness. Long, fruity finish.
