Matijašević’s vineyards lie in Orašac, Kopljare and Banja. Since 2023, the winery’s world has also included its own distillery with Twin Tigers gin.
The profile
Matijašević Vinogradi is one of Šumadija’s largest wineries; its vineyards lie in Orašac, Kopljare and Banja and cover 15 to 16 hectares. Smederevka, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Prokupac, Merlot and Malbec are grown.
Since the first harvest in 2019, the wines have won significant international awards: the Sauvignons Sovinoa and SoviNoa Fumé Blanc earned Decanter gold medals, with SoviNoa Fumé Blanc 2022 ranking eighth among more than 670 Sauvignon entries; in 2023, the Merlot Tri Doline ranked among the top 25 of over 1'400 Merlots. In 2021, the estate was named Winery of the Year in Serbia, and in 2022 SoviNoa Fumé Blanc was named Wine of the Year.
Particular attention is given to the indigenous varieties Belina (Smederevka) and Čukundeda (Prokupac). In November 2023, a distillery also opened for the premium craft gin Twin Tigers, produced in small batches using exclusively Serbian herbs.
