- In the glass
Deep, almost black dark ruby; opaque and intense—Vranac is known for its extraordinary color depth.
- On the nose
Intense and complex: black cherry, blackberry, dark plum, chocolate, and spices. The underwater aging imparts a special calm and integration to the wine—no aggressive oak, but harmonious depth.
- On the palate
Powerful and dense, with pronounced but ripened tannins. The acidity is well-integrated. The underwater aging creates an exceptionally smooth, harmonious texture. The finish is very long and warm.
- Food pairing
Grilled lamb, wild boar goulash, aged hard cheese, dark chocolate.

Overview
Kraken Underwater Cellar's Vranac is an exceptional red wine: aged underwater in the Adriatic Sea—a special aging method where consistent temperatures, darkness, and minimal vibration allow for a different aging process than in conventional cellars. Vranac is the most powerful indigenous red grape variety of the Balkans.

Origin
Kraken Underwater Cellar is an innovative wine project from the Adriatic region. Bottles are stored in the sea at defined depths, where temperature (approx. 12–15 °C), pressure conditions, and darkness create special aging conditions. The Vranac originates from the Balkan region, typically Montenegro or Macedonia.
