Cabernet & Merlot by Stari Hrast (Old Oak) is a classic Bordeaux blend from Šumadija, Central Serbia. The combination of both varieties results in a structured, fruit-driven red wine with aging potential and typical Balkan warmth.

Character & enjoyment

In the glass

Intense ruby red with garnet hues; dense color, clear and shiny.

On the nose

Black cherry, cassis, and plum form the core. Notes of cedarwood, clove, and vanilla from oak aging are also present. A slight bell pepper spice indicates the Cabernet component.

On the palate

Well-structured with fresh, yet ripe tannins. The acidity is harmoniously balanced, providing freshness. The body is medium to full, the finish long and spicy.

Food pairing

Grilled beef, pot roast with vegetables, aged hard cheeses, Balkan-style minced meat and paprika dishes.
