The craft of wine in Mala Remeta
Vinarija Deurić cultivates vineyards on the sunny southern slopes of Fruška Gora at around 250 metres above sea level; it is based in the village of Mala Remeta. The winery describes winegrowing as a profession, a passion and a great love, and cellar work as an art. The owner is Mitar Deurić, the winery is led by director Mirko Niškanović, and its wine technologist is Milica Ćućuz.
The winery gave rise to The Sparkling Winery, a brand specialising in traditional bottle fermentation: ten hectares of vineyards planted with Grašac, Chardonnay, Morava and Pinot Noir are reserved for this project, with a further hectare of Tamjanika planted. Mala Remeta is thus developing into a centre of Serbian sparkling wine production.
