The profile
Chichateau is one of Serbia’s best-known garage wineries. The estate is in Šišatovac in the municipality of Sremska Mitrovica, on the southern slopes of Fruška Gora; its vineyards cover three hectares at around 260 metres above sea level, facing south to southwest. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are grown, with annual production of around 18'000 bottles.
The range includes Pink Punk rosé from Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, ChiChardonnay fermented and matured in Slavonian oak, and barrique-aged reds in the Fabula range. Winemaker and owner Đorđe Stojšić is also responsible for production and marketing at Erdevik winery. Visits are by appointment only.
